AMISOM Spokesman Major Barigye Ba-Huko told VOA Somali Service that four AMISOM soldiers were killed and eight others injured after a mortar shell landed in Villa Somalia Compound, the Presidential Palace.
The incident took place at around 8:30am Mogadishu time today. All soldiers were killed by a single mortar shell, according to Majro Ba-Huko.
It comes amid continues clashes in Mogadishu for the eight day running. The insurgents have been trying to cut off Maka Al-Mukarama road, the main road which links the Presidential Place to the airport.
