In a very dramatic move, Somalia’s President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has sacked his Prime Minister. President Sharif said he would appoint a new Prime Minister in 30 days time.
In another development, the Speaker of the Parliament Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur has resigned paving the way for the election of a new parliament.
The President has taken the decision after a long dispute between the parliamentarians which crippled the government.
The President has announced the decision at a press conference in Mogadishu a short while ago.
The President will have 30 days to pick a new Prime Minister and is expected to deal with after the Istanbul International Conference on Somalia. Also, members of the parliament said they would elect a new house speaker in two weeks time.
